The Release & Deployment Manager is responsible for the end-to-end orchestration of changes within the SAP S/4HANA landscape. Operating in a collaboration with our strategic IT partners , you will ensure that all functional and technical enhancements are deployed into production with zero business disruption, maintaining the integrity of our Sustain Operations. Overall responsible to manage all change & release management activities of SAP applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end SAP release & change management activities across sophisticated SAP S/4HANA implementations
Defining, maintaining, and governing release deployment frameworks aligned with program release plans
Coordinating release deployments and cutovers across projects, increments, and process teams
Handling business and IT change activities, ensuring alignment and smooth transition of changes & transports within SAP systems using SOLMAN CHARM & ServiceNow tools
Driving risk identification and contingency strategies for environments and releases
Collaborating closely with Release Management, Test Management, Data Migration, and Product Business partners
Planning and delivering change readiness checkpoints to ensure on-time PROD movements.
Facilitating release stand-ups, tracking execution, and ensuring timely delivery of increments
Providing cockpit-based reporting and clear progress updates to participants
Building and leading a strong network of change representatives across Agile projects
Continuously improving change and release processes by implementing standard methodologies and efficiency improvements
Secondary Skills
Coordinate with FME ITS & Business teams to identify release-wise requirement
Segregate existing & new requirement to decide validation scope of the release in collaboration with validation team.
Manage testing & cutover activities as required by the program.
Qualifications
1) Required training and education:
ISTQB Foundation, Agile or any other Advanced Level certification
SAP SOLMAN Certifications preferred
2) Required professional experience (in years):
8+ years of experience in software change and release management, with 5+ years of experience in SAP implementation / upgrade / support related change & release management
Strong hands-on experience in SAP SOLMAN CHARM & transport management, Atlassian Jira, ServiceNow, Tricentis test & Vera is a must.
Have experience in Pharma industry – GXP/ CSV processes & regulated / validated release methodologies
Shown expertise in planning, scheduling, and coordinating software releases in sophisticated environments
Shown knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and ITIL processes
Validated ability to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment
Good experience working with offshore and global teams
Excellent partner management, communication, and partnership skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities
Certifications in Agile Release Trains, ITIL, PMP, or similar are helpful
Proficiency with SAP Signavio for business process modelling is preferred
A continuous learner approach with willingness to adapt to new tools, technologies, and delivery models
