Job Description:

The Vice President, Wealth Platform Technology Lead leads the development, execution and delivery of end-to-end technology solutions or services within a platform, product or project. She/he is responsible for end-to-end solution design, management of technology issue escalation and resolution process, as well as stakeholder management.

Reporting to the SVP & Head of the Wealth Management Platform, this leader collaborates with product group tech leads to effectively communicate technology decisions and drive business results, ensuring alignment with the organization's target operating model, technology roadmap and approach, and enterprise architecture/technologies. The individual will leverage their deep expertise and experience in optimizing the product and delivery processes to ensure maximized value for the organization.

Individual

  • Based on the capability roadmap, this entails ensuring the end-to-end solution design and technical solutions to be in place, managing technology issue escalations and resolutions, continuously assessing methods and feedback, and aligning stakeholders.

  • She/he will provide leadership support to multiple product group technology leads and software engineers to ensure alignment across multiple product backlogs on technology delivery solutions. The individual will consider how to maximize value, assessing how the product or the delivery processes can be automated, optimized and improved on an ongoing basis.

  • Act as the single point of engagement for technology within a journey or platform, facilitating decisions with respect to technology delivery and potential options & risks which will have downstream impact on operational costs, solution resiliency and scalability.

  •  Lead the creation and delivery of end to end technical solutions, and oversee/support multiple specialized and functional teams.

  • Participate in business planning discussion and define the technology delivery approach, including cross applications/teams integration, and/or release co-ordination

  • Look for opportunities to minimize any negative cost impact and reduce delivery/operational costs of technology

  • Own technology decisions and outcomes. Drive technology target state and roadmap-based technology investments while operating with agility and simplicity

  • Uncover business opportunities through innovation and improve quality and predictability of technology delivery

  • Drive key initiatives for technology options assessment, opportunity sizing, technology delivery setup & structure

  • Lead approach validation process for all technology strategic solutions or POCs

  • Identifying and hiring the engineering / technology talent required for the journey/platform to enable ongoing value delivery, or in the case of a project-based delivery model, they provide inputs into tech delivery leads and tech leads assigned to their project

  • Implement technology risk & control defined standards and strategies for the technology solutions being delivered

  • Provide technical support for escalated incidents to ensure they are resolved efficiently and communicate to business partners

  • Ensure the alignment of solution design to comply with enterprise standards and meet enterprise or segment strategic direction (e.g., target operating model, enterprise assets)

  • Engagement at concept level of the business initiative along with EPO

  • Cross-project alignment and interlocking of decision making

  • Self-learning and external reporting

  • Brand new product and software introduction

  • Strong partnership with FSSE and SRE roles at the product family level to ensure prioritization of technical debt, security and resiliency aspects

Shareholder:

  • Ensure programs, policies and practices meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements

  • Ensures programs/initiatives related to security activities are well managed and administered; ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of issues

  • Monitor assigned functional area for productivity and efficiency, operating systems to continually improve delivery capability

  • Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank

  • May develop and/or contribute to negotiations of third-party contracts/agreements

  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations

  • Follow and ensure employees are knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and industry codes of conduct

  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

Experience and/or Education

  • 15+ preferred years of development and technology delivery experience with Agile delivery experience preferred

  • Extensive expertise and knowledge of specific domain or broad range of experience in technology domains, including understanding of in-house and third-party architecture integration

  • Expert knowledge of applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business / organization, bank standards, regulatory and compliance standards

  • Expert technical skills and a strong understanding of the team's product; technology and issues

  • Provides leadership and guidance to several teams across the enterprise and solves complex cross-department issues

  • Participates in the development of business strategies

  • Works autonomously on highly complex project/ issues which are diverse in scope and/or multi-faceted and often provides leadership and direction to the team

  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives

  • Utilize subject matter expertise to introduce new technologies, or new versions of existing technologies, into the organization

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate, graduate degree preferred
