Cleveland Clinic’s G90 Urology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit is dedicated to the care of post-operative urology and overflow surgical patients and focuses on pain control, return of bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention and ambulation. Patients in this unit range from young adults to geriatric; however, the most common is about 65 years old. Some of the primary procedures performed on this unit include partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, urolithiasis, and cystectomy with continent/incontinent urinary diversion.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—3:30pm
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
Supervise caregivers and promote development.
Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.
Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
Three years of recent nursing clinical experience to include at least one year of healthcare management experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's Degree in Nursing.
Demonstrate leadership, management, communication, counseling, problems solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
