Reporting to the Manager, Pension and Benefits, this position focuses on the support and administration of various leave of absences and time off plans.  The role will have an emphasis on disability administration for over 190,000 colleagues across all divisions of LCL.

What you'll do

Colleague support

  • Provide support for all Tier 2 level inquiries including data corrections and understanding and clarification on the different leave of absences and time off policies
  • Investigate inquiries and provide timely resolution in a professional and confidential manner
  • Liaise with external providers (i.e. carriers, third party administrators) and internal providers (HR/LR, Medical Services Group, Management, etc.) for resolution of issues and claims
  • Liaise with HR and Store Management on leave of absence and time off policies and procedures
  • Facilitate applicable leave of absence training as required
  • Provide coaching to bookkeepers/Store Management/colleagues on leave of absence procedures and time off policies

Disability Administration

  • Responsible for the day to day administration of weekly indemnity/short term disability, including eligibility, new claims, completion of the Employer Statement, follow-ups, information changes, etc.
  • Responsible for the day to day administration of long term disability benefits, including eligibility, information changes, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring legislative/contractual/collective agreement compliance in daily administrative processing
  • Work with colleague and HR to highlight and resolve payroll/claims payment issues

What you'll need

  • Bilingual in French is a must
  • Minimum 1-year disability administration experience 
  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS (Workday experience preferred)
  • Good understanding of Benefits legislation
  • Very strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently in a highly organized fashion where detail, accuracy, urgency and confidentiality are critical
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for communicating to all levels within and outside of the organization 
  • Highly organized individual who is able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word;
  • Intermediate experience with Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Access, and Outlook)
  • Data entry skills and the ability to manage large volume of data
  • Previous experience with SAP would be considered an asset
  • Very good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Be flexible and able to effectively work with the team and adapt to change in a positive manner.
