Join us as a Finance Data Manager

  • We’re looking for someone to support the management and quality of Risk and Finance data through establishing and enhancing appropriate data solutions  
  • You’ll be implementing and supporting programmes of work to strategically improve data management, control, quality and reporting, and initiating and executing tactical data remediation
  • We’re looking for someone to take on a new challenge, and put their analytical and problem-solving skills to good use

What you'll do

As Finance Data Manager, you’ll be accountable for the delivery and integrity of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information, including balance sheet, profit and loss account, and internal and external reporting. You’ll also be ensuring that a robust AWS data platform control framework is established that is compliant with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Along with this, you’ll act as a key partner as you proactively contribute to decision making on complex or specialist issues, demonstrating judgement and a thorough understanding of Risk and Finance data.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Provide assurance on Risk and Finance data to enable sign-off of internal returns and external disclosures  
  • Provide a high-quality Risk and Finance data service to Risk and Finance functions that includes explanations, investigations, guidance and data quality MI 
  • Maintain the logic between Risk & Finance Data Product and Data Marts with tightly controlled ownership of the AWS data transformation rules  
  • Act as an internal customer relationship manager and effectively maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Complete value-added reporting and analysis to meet our customers’ needs
  • Work with the team and centres of excellence to standardise processes and outputs and to undertake continuous improvement activity

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial control, preferably gained within financial services. You’ll have worked in a global context and will have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a changing environment. You'll also have an understanding of data and tools used to provide effective solutions to complex problems. Holding a professional accounting qualification or having significant relevant experience in place of this is beneficial but not essential.

We’ll also look to you to bring:

  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and customers across organisations and geographical boundaries, influencing and challenging as required
  • Up to date knowledge of accounting standards and data tolls 
  • Knowledge of the bank’s key Risk and Finance systems and data  
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement activity
  • An astute eye for detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
