The pay range is $131,000.00 - $236,000.00

Working within Guest Marketing Strategy, you will lead the development of guest-centric, culturally relevant marketing strategies and plans that drive demand for the business, improve equity perceptions with our guest and build the Target brand.  You will work cross functionally with marketing, merchandising and enterprise partners to bring strategic objectives that come to life across a marketing mix and guest experience touchpoints. Your commitment to partnership and collaboration will rally internal and external partners across functions to ensure alignment and progress towards common outcomes.

As a Director Guest Marketing Strategy you will lead a team of Marketers, leverage your strong leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills to manage a portfolio of work to deliver upon annual and quarterly business and brand outcomes efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong organizational, strategic thinking skills and enterprise leadership.  Your ability to bring teams together to define future ways of working will enable smart innovation and learning for the full team. 

  • Accountable for driving macro marketing performance for the enterprise and delivering on big bets

  • Manages portfolio of investment, communications & content

  • Translate Business/Marketing strategy into a portfolio of communication and content plans across all guest outcomes (acquisition/frequency/retention)

  • Lead planning, activation, and optimization efforts in collaboration with internal/external partners

  • Anticipates and risks and opportunities to meeting outcomes and ensures senior leader alignment on deliverables

  • Cultivates strong partnerships and with enterprise partners across Marketing & Digital, Merchandising, Finance

  • Attracts, retains, and develops a high performing, highly engaged team across multiple levels of experience, including onboarding support for new leaders and coaching and development feedback

About you:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience 

  • 12+ years of related work experience

  • 5+ years of Apparel & Accessories category experience.

  • Strong marketing capabilities in strategy and brief development

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and varying levels in the organization

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen demonstrated by the ability to translate and drive strategies forward that are consistent with enterprise and guest goals

  • Strong creative acumen and passion for developing communications and content that retains Target’s competitive edge in the market and builds relationships with guests

  • Deep industry knowledge and acumen

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage project deadlines and competing priorities effectively

  • Proven team leadership skills that showcase the ability to direct and coach a team

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
