Position Highlights:
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Endeavor Health, the principal academic affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine is seeking a Molecular Pathologist.
The successful candidate for the position will have fellowship training in molecular genetic pathology. This pathologist will work closely with the laboratories and staff to provide technical and clinical innovation, administrative oversight of the lab, and clinical consultation. Clinical signout responsibilities in molecular pathology will include oncology, along with some molecular microbiology and germline assays. Other responsibilities include teaching residents, medical students, and medical technology students. Certification by the American Board of Pathology is required. Salary, title, and academic rank at the University of Chicago will be commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine includes 28 full-time physicians and doctoral scientists in the Anatomic, Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology Divisions. Many of the Laboratories are centralized at Evanston Hospital and serve the entire NorthShore system. The Anatomic Pathology Division includes 20 faculty members, and operates using a semi-subspecialized model. Extensive molecular pathology services are available on-site. The Department sponsors a longstanding and successful ACGME-accredited AP/CP pathology residency program, fellowships in surgical pathology and (with University of Chicago) in Medical Microbiology and Molecular Genetic Pathology, and a Medical technology school on site.
