How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 (DOE)

The area supply chain manager works closely with account managers, branch managers, and VMI technicians to supply customers with the appropriate product and services. Works with different departments to enhance service offerings to increase sales and profitability by performing the following.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Overall responsibility of managing customer expectations of welding hard goods and safety supplies related to VMI bins.
  • Ensures delivery of products are on time with the appropriate inventory and supplies.
  • Oversees order entry into the SAP system of products.
  • Works on prospecting leads provided from the sales team to enhance sales and profitability of products.
  • Assists associates to qualify customer leads and close new sales orders.
  • Manages inventory levels to meet customer demands.
  • Assures the market’s VMI services meet/ exceed customer expectations
  • Manages customer deliverable reporting which gives visibility to their inventory levels. Follows this reporting with Total Cost of Ownership documents.
  • Assures accounts are orderly and aesthetically pleasing. HOW IS THIS DONE? DEFINE “PLEASING”
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers & ABOCs to assure supporting inventory levels are met for VMI programs.
  • Manages VMI efficiency and contribution margin levels and other key performance indicators.
  • Manages associate training in procedural areas such as following all Airgas Operating Standards and safety regulations.
  • Lead, coach and mentor associates; this will include positive motivation and performance evaluation, coaching, providing regular feedback, communication of goals, leading regular team meetings and calls.
  • Recruit, retain and develop the necessary team to ensure success for VMI goals.
  • Provides leadership and management direction to associates with day-to-day operations of the associates including compliance, sales, inventory, and reporting.
  • Manages work hours and approves overtime in timekeeping system. Responsible for maintaining hours within established budget.
  • Ensures customer delivery sites are safe for deliveries.
  • Responsible for associates maintaining vehicle inspections for defects and safe operation conditions before deliveries are made. Makes sure paperwork is submitted to report any problems immediately. Makes sure post trip inspections are performed as a regular cadence.
  • Leads by example to maintain neat and professional appearance, including vehicle appearances for delivery needs.

Are you a MATCH?

  • High School diploma or the equivalent five years related experience or training. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
  • SAP or similar software system experience. Intermediate skills operating a computer in Windows based environment is recommended.
  • Two to four years in business to business sales or supply chain/ inventory management is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles.
  • Ability to lead a team and collaborate with cross functional partners.
