Northrop Grumman is need of Air Defense Tech-lead position.

This position is in support of Base Operations NEtwork (BONE) Refinement And Systems enHancements (BRASH), monitoring in theater, real-time Integrated Fires Rapid Capabilities Office (IFRCO) C-UAS, Sense and Warn, and BONES (CSW&B) system performance, and collect and analyze system and sub-system data required to improve OCONUS CSW&B performance, and then to design, prototype, build, integrate, test and execute OCONUS hardware and software modifications, to enhance the IFRCO System of System capability.

The Air Defense Systems Tech-lead position will work directly with Deployment Operation Product Owner (PO) and Surge-Lead, providing technical expertise on upcoming SW, FW, HW sustainment operations and upgrades. They will collaborate with operations, technicians, and engineering staff to ensure proper tracking and dissemination of information for upcoming efforts to ensure mission success. They will provide training and mentorship to team members and assist in addressing technical challenges along with providing troubleshooting recommendations and ensuring best practices are followed.

This position is on-site Huntsville, Alabama.

Duties include:

  • Assist integrating air defense detection assets

  • Assist maintaining tactical computer data links/networks

  • Maintain Systems to provide situational awareness, and communication of detected threats throughout the air defense network

  • Technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements in accordance with customer specifications and requirements

  • Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with product customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution

  • Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives

  • Ability to act as the field liaison [ LNO] with customer personnel, providing on-site support required for the planning and implementation of product training, checkout, and test events

  • Perform start-up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of product

  • Provide the technical interface with product level integrated engineering teams

  • Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives

  • Ability to lift 40 Lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work on site - Huntsville, Alabama

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience or Master's Degree with 2 years’ experience or High School Diploma / equivalent with 9 years’ experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

  • Current Secret Security Clearance

  • Familiar with Air Defense such as Sentinel, Patriot C-RAM, C-UAS or IBCS or other similar system.

  • Experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and an understanding of the OSI model and network architectures

  • Able to meet all pre-deployment standards to include medical/immunization requirements

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally approx. 15%

  • Experience with defense systems field testing (First Article, Design Variation, or Environmental)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Air Defense experience Army 14 series MOS or related field 

  • Army MOS 140 or similar rate/experience

  • Experience performing operator and administrative functions on the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) Command and Control (C2)

  • ADAM Cell, AMDPCS FAAD Shelter and/or Battery Command Post experience

  • Experience supporting defense systems field testing (First Article, Design Variation, and Environmental)

  • Possess CompTIA LPI Linux+ certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date

  • Possess CompTIA LPI Network+ certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date

  • Deployment experience in a field technical support role

  • Ability to pass medical and pre-deployment requirements per the CONUS Replacement Center standards in support of OCONUS Deployment to ARCENT, AFRICOM, CENTCOM, or EUCOM regions. Pre-deployment information can be found at: CONUS Replacement Center (army.mil)

Salary Range: $68,800.00 - $103,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
