The Ambulatory LPN plays a vital role in assisting the healthcare team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort to patients and families. This position involves delivering direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Additionally, the LPN safely administers prescribed medications, identifying any incompatibilities or interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of patients and families.
• Assist the healthcare team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
• Provide direction, education, and begin to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
• Deliver direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying any incompatibilities or interactions.
• Accurately document all care provided in patient records.
Requirements:
• Current LPN Licensure in Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
• AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
• Experience requirements vary based on transitional duty assignment.
• Preferred experience as an LPN in an acute care setting or applicable area of practice.
• Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.

Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.

Additional position requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurses work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
