Food Service National Account Manager

This position is remote/ Virtual – ideal candidate would be located in the Northeast or Central United States.

Foodservice National Account Manager - Vermont Creamery

The Foodservice National Account Manager (NAM) is a field-based position responsible for identifying, developing, and winning sales opportunities in the foodservice channel across the United States.  This role will develop and grow strong business relationships with new and existing customers while being responsible for building strategic growth plans including innovation launches, promotional activity and customer specific marketing programs to drive sales.  In conjunction with individual selling efforts, the NAM will play a key role engaging with Vermont Creamery Marketing & Sales Leadership to shape foodservice channel strategy. The role sits within the Vermont Creamery business, which is wholly owned by Land O’Lakes, providing opportunity for connectivity and sharing of best practices between the smaller Vermont Creamery sales team and the larger Land O’Lakes sales team.

Sales Execution

  • Manage portfolio of foodservice distributors located across the United States
  • Research, identify and qualify new business opportunities for the Vermont Creamery brand portfolio within the foodservice channel - including independents, chain restaurants, & B2B
  • Direct, train and influence distributor sales teams to promote a ‘Vermont Creamery First’ sales approach
  • Create, organize, and lead customer presentations to deliver business reviews, pursue new distribution, & optimize promotional activity
  • Leverage syndicated data and analytics with customer to enable growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other Vermont Creamery sales team members to share best practices and ensure alignment on messaging/execution.
  • Attend customer trade shows & industry events - representing Vermont Creamery & helping create, track, & follow-up on new business leads.

Planning

  • Develop the foodservice sales execution plan in collaboration with VC Marketing & Sales Leadership
  • Plan trade spending across the region and look for growth-oriented opportunities
  • Set up distributor review dates and promotional engagements
  • Provide market-based insights to enable more efficient and effective planning and execution

Trade Management & Administration

  • Ensure VC trade for assigned customers completes year between 97% - 101% of budget in close collaboration with sales team leader & broader VC sales team.
  • Maintain close partnership with the trade promotions & deduction management team to ensure full line-of-sight tracking of volume-driven trade budget & collaboration on closing disputed deductions.
  • Develop annual sales execution plans, in collaboration with external stakeholders, to deliver best-in-class category growth within butter, fresh goat, aged cheese, and cultured cream categories
  • Utilize Land O’Lakes CRM (Salesforce)

Required

  • 4 Year College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4 + years foodservice channel experience
  • Ability to travel nationally (Customer Engagement, New Business Development, Industry Events, Internal Meetings) 50% +

Preferred Experience / Qualifications

  • Specialty sales management – specifically through specialty distribution
  • Specialty cheese experience / certification preferred
  • Strong capabilities in trade management, CRM and other business systems such as PowerBIReside near major airport

Hiring salary is negotiable based on experience: $102,480 - $153,720
