034782 Cutter Operator - Second Shift (Open)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to use hand tools including reciprocating saws, wrenches, and others to prepare and make cutter adjustments as necessary for each work order.   
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders to safely set up and operate equipment and to understand machine set up and production requirements.  
  • Ability to calculate conversion of fractions to decimals and read a tape measure, height gauge, and micrometers. 
  • Ability to perform changeovers between work orders to meet specifications.
  • Ability to communicate with Winder Operator about quality concerns, equipment issues, and material counts and assist with installation and adjustment of mandrel during set up process. 
  • Ability to remove finished cores from cutter drop table and manually stack them onto pallets, racks, or into trays.
  • Ability to perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and/or COAs using the CSAR quality system.
  • Ability to understand machine language such as synchro, bottom ply width, bed rollers, gap correction, and blade change. 
  • Ability to understand which nylon to use and when nylon needs to be changed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct quality issues such as double cuts, fuzzy ends, burrs, and hair.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all OPEX recordkeeping requirements and adhere to specific quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to perform other tasks as required.


Education and Experience

  • Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up 1-2 years of relevant experience.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions, company policies and guidelines, and work well in a team.
  • Self-motivated and attentive to details.
  • Excellent attendance and able to work overtime as required. 
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of lean tools such as 5-Why’s, Fishbone, 5’s, SMED, Operator care, Reliability and RCPS.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools. 
  • Lifts to 35 pounds
  • Stooping, bending, and moving around the plant facility for up to 10 hours per day
  • Understand how to calculate fraction conversions, read a tape measure, use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Maintain forklift certification
  • Available to work second shift from 2:30 pm to 12:30 am Monday through Thursday, and Friday as required.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $28.03annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between19.62 to24.52. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
