How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

A Customer Service Representative processes orders for industrial, medical and specialty gases as well as welding and safety equipment, power and handle tools and other products/supplies requested by telephone from call-in customers or associates. This position is based and will work in the LaPorte Branch Office.

In particular, you will: 

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide a variety of services to customers, including assisting customer identify product needs and placing orders.

  • Accurately completes and files all required paperwork on a timely basis. Documents sales, quotes or other information.

  • Enters sales & quote data into the computer and researches information for customers using the computer system.

  • Efficient and accurate entry of credit memorandums.

  • Research products with vendors, including pricing and availability details.

  • Establish and maintain good customer relations.

  • Work with internal customers (account managers, branch store operations, distribution, etc) to resolve order conflicts.

  • Maintains clean open order and backorder report.

  • Maintains current price documentation and product literature as it becomes available. Keeps product knowledge current.

  • Provides store branch coverage when necessary.

  • Assist in special projects (pricing, inventory, sales).

Are you a MATCH?

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent; Two (2) year degree preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service and/or sales experience.

  • Knowledge of welding, gases, industrial, safety supply sales.

  • Excellent customer and computer skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which apply to this position’s responsibilities.
