Position Summary

The Supply Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining supply plans that ensure customer demand is met while balancing inventory investment, manufacturing capacity, and operational efficiency.

This role converts demand requirements into executable supply and production plans through effective use of ERP and planning systems. The Supply Planner works closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Commercial teams to optimize product availability, minimize supply risks, and maintain high service levels.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop end-to-end supply chain planning expertise and progress within the PPE planning organization.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning

  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly supply plans to meet customer demand and business objectives.
  • Translate demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory positions, and capacity constraints into actionable production requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between supply plans, inventory targets, and operational capabilities.
  • Monitor and adjust plans based on changing demand, supply constraints, and manufacturing priorities.

Production Scheduling

  • Generate and manage production schedules and work orders through JD Edwards (JDE) and related planning systems.
  • Coordinate milling, extrusion, and finished goods production requirements to support customer deliveries.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure schedule adherence and efficient resource utilization.
  • Support recovery planning and schedule adjustments when disruptions occur.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory and working capital.
  • Identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence risks.
  • Recommend inventory actions to support service, cost, and inventory objectives.
  • Support cycle count, inventory accuracy, and data governance initiatives.

Supply Risk Management

  • Proactively identify material, capacity, and supply risks.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to resolve shortages and mitigate service impacts.
  • Escalate critical supply risks and provide recommended solutions.
  • Support business continuity and contingency planning activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor planning performance and report key supply chain KPIs.
  • Analyze root causes of supply, inventory, or service issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop reports and insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure planning master data, planning parameters, and ERP records remain accurate and up to date.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support planning process enhancements and system optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in projects focused on inventory optimization, planning efficiency, automation, and data quality improvements.
  • Contribute ideas that improve customer service, operational efficiency, and planning accuracy.
  • Support implementation of best practices across PPE planning processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Service, Warehousing, and Commercial teams to ensure successful plan execution.
  • Communicate supply plans, inventory risks, and service challenges in a clear and timely manner.
  • Participate in Supply Planning and SIOP reviews as required.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization to drive collaborative problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning, Materials Planning, Inventory Planning, or Supply Chain operations.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE).
  • Experience using Power BI or other analytical/reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of SIOP/S&OP planning processes.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Travel

This role is based in Brenham, Texas and may require occasional travel to other PPE locations, suppliers, customers, and company meetings as business needs require.
