Job Summary:

The Merchandising Logistics Management (MLM)  Sr Analyst will be aligned to one Business Area and is responsible for improving inbound flow from suppliers to Lowe's distribution centers and stores based on complex analytics that impacts channel selection, inventory placement decisions, supplier ship-point optimization, freight mode selection, freight ownership that is informed by merchant and replenishment business parameters and service expectations.  This will also include direct ownership of the Prepaid-to-Collect conversion program.

MLM Sr Analyst must prioritize optimization opportunities in product categories based on line review schedules, seasonality and tactical needs for their given business area. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Planning, Network Optimization, Transportation and DC Ops teams to execute improvements to inbound flow for targeted product areas, supplier programs, and replenishment strategies.
  • Main point of contact for supplier-specific network flow issues that require channel, frequency, ship-point or other identified supplier inefficiencies
  • Designs and manages proactive and reactive Supply Chain by monitoring channel and flow of product for categories
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for all central channel analysis using the appropriate optimization tool and model to review alternatives and trade-offs.
  • Manages the processes and governance of channel business rules and decisions that ensure costs, capacities, and capabilities are accounted for to ensure timely flow of goods through the network.
  • Evaluate Inventory depth and flow timing of freight ordered vs received
  • Support reset activity, seasonal build entry/exit, promotions by executing PLR packets
  • Identifying and mitigate business risks and opportunities
  • Anticipating changes in business trends and takes initiative to solve
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional business meetings
  • Extract data, reporting and analysis to generate business insights

  • 4+ years of experience in Supply chain Management
  • 4+ years experience of project management
  • 3+ years experience in optimization principals, modeling, and tools

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or Related Field

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience in Data mining and visualization tool such as PowerBI, SQL, MS Access and Excel
  • Experience in building analytical models, proficient in mathematical and Statistical analysis
  • Experienced in Python and R
  • Experience in or knowledge of Supply Chain Planning and Optimization through use of modeling and simulation tools
  • Working knowledge of Merchandising decision-making tools for Suppliers, Items and Sourcing to include Financial determinations
  • Familiar with Inventory Management, Planning, Forecasting, and Transportation processes and systems 
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents for presentation to management
