To support its logistics operations, Gunvor wholly owns Clearlake Shipping, one of the largest charterers of tanker vessels in the world and an operator of drybulk vessels and cargoes. Since 2003, Clearlake has operated around a high-quality fleet of Tankers, Gas Carriers and drybulk vessels on a time-charter basis to accommodate Gunvor’s growing needs for ocean transportation across all major ocean routes, in addition to the needs of third-party business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of the trading Position & Profit and Loss (PnL)

  • Daily pricing exposure reconciliation with trading & operations (Ops)

  • Validate position and  PnL in an timely manner

  • Report position and PnL daily to management

  • Review and maintain information reliability in in-house ETRM system, including costs

  • Build & monitor  in-house forward curves in  ETRM including front to back implementation for market assessment

  • Check accuracy and consistency of forward curves vs market values

  • Complete and improve upon daily processes such as market data checks, trade completeness and regulatory reports

  • Coordinate and check intercompany deals with other desks/offices of the group

  • Check and reconcile futures trades between ETRM and clearing agents & exchanges

  • Liaise and coordinate as needed with Ops (or similar functions) and back-office

  • Check and monitor MTM of physical deals entered in ETRM

  • Allocate hedges in strategies, as the case may be

  • Check & compare costs in ETRM vs Ops costs and invoices

  • Monitor exposure/VAR and inform management in case of limits breaks

  • Verify and reconcile end of month results with accounting

  • Back up for other desks as needed

  • Work with Front Office, IT, Ops, Finance & Credit as the case may be

  • Reports directly to the Regional Head of Risk – Oil & Products – Americas Middle Office

Profile

  • One - Five years’ experience in Middle Office in a commodity trading environment with comprehension of energy trading, related trading experience can substitute

  • Trading system experience, programming/SQL/IT skills seen as an advantage

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel

  • Demonstrated business analysis skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commodities

  • Project Management skills

  • Proactive / self-motivated

  • Rigorous and detail oriented

  • Good verbal and written presentation skills

  • University Degree

  • US working permit
