Role Summary:

As the Senior Product Consultant for Small Dozers (D1-D3) in the Americas and Global Regions, you will support field sales teams and dealers, aiding in sales and providing product expertise. You’ll assist Product Groups and NPI Managers by collecting VOC, developing specifications, and conducting competitive analysis.

Your role involves staying updated on market needs, supporting product sales, enhancing dealer effectiveness, and improving processes. You will apply your industry knowledge to meet Caterpillar, dealer, and customer expectations and may guide less experienced personnel.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide product and application expertise to the Americas and Global Regions field sales rep teams and dealers to support Tracks sales execution, price realization and improved value proposition.
  • Incumbent is the subject matter expert in terms of product application knowledge for Small Dozers and is considered a key field “go to resource".
  • Responsible to develop and deliver product and application training to field reps, dealers & customers.
  • Supports equipment sizing and application recommendations to assist in reduced O&O costs and improved machine performance based on production requirements, job conditions and operator evaluation of specified models.
  • Provide reports on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons and maintenance and repair cost analysis.
  • Develop, support and train field reps and dealers in the use of Value Selling Tool (VST) and other equipment analysis software.
  • Administer video strategy for the respective regions.
  • Provides input to Product Groups and NPI teams for next generation NPI product development activities & current production updates. This includes the collection and communication of VOC and development of CCR input to NPI teams and Marketing staff. Incumbent may be a member of the core NPI Team.
  • Responsibilities are focused on Americas and Global Regions but a general understanding of Small Dozers from a global perspective will be required.
  • Provide Product Group with industry-specific trends based on customers’ operational data and benchmarking.
  • Provide input on and guidance to the Industry Teams, Product Group, Supply Chain and Velocity Teams on supply vs demand challenges.
  • Support price list & configuration activities & projects.

What You’ll Have:

  • Ability to understand and articulate technical machine performance and application knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of management hierarchy
  • Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Ability to collaborate with other internal teams to get alignment on timelines, understanding marketing goals, and developing the marketing technology product roadmap.

Additional Information:

  • Work location: Clayton, NC.
  • Domestic relocation is offered
  • Travel will be up to 25% for this role domestically and in Canada.
  • May require limited international travel.
