We are looking for motivated Java Engineers who are passionate and delivery-focused to build and maintain microservices supporting banking applications, with a key focus on developing and managing Kong APIs. You will join a collaborative delivery team, contributing technical expertise across all stages of the software development lifecycle while supporting NAB’s ongoing technology transformation.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, review, and maintain Java-based services with a strong focus on building and managing Kong APIs for banking applications.
Configure and optimise Kong API gateways to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable integrations.
Build and support CI/CD pipelines to enable smooth deployment of services and APIs on public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
Collaborate in Agile teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned with business needs.
Apply strong coding, testing, and debugging practices to ensure high-quality delivery.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
5 years + experience as a Java developer in a complex, enterprise-level development environment;
Good experience in JAVA 8+/NodeJs/Iua (Kong API);
Good experience in DevOps practices
Good experience in Java open-source frameworks, including developing using modern frameworks, e.g. Spring Boot;
Experience in developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based system;
Exposure to in Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services - particularly Serverless Development;
Good English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment;
Experience in Agile development environments;
Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code;
Good problem-solving and analytical skills;
Good understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing;
