As Manager, Data Analytics, you will lead and develop a local analytics team while providing technical and project leadership in the team's day-to-day project portfolios.  As part of Stryker’s Sales Enablement team, you will support collaboration with Stryker enterprise across functions to leverage domain expertise and capabilities while managing expectations on timing and scope of project work. You will also develop, lead, and communicate strategic priorities for team that align with domain and business strategic priorities. 

What you will do

  • Gather and build big data dashboard/analytic plan for Canada with vision of “single source of truth” philosophy – inclusive of internal data and acquired external market data. 
  • Develop capability and build high performing team to achieve performance objectives by actively coaching and mentoring team.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen to develop financial impacts for existing projects and evaluating new opportunities.
  • Orchestrate collaboration with Stryker Canada’s Senior Management, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Operations and IT to leverage domain expertise and capabilities and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Build strong relationships with other Business Insights team in the International and US regions to align on big data footprint, reuse existing dashboard/platforms, and technology strategy.
  • Develop and administer training programs and communication for end users on deployment of new dashboards and tools ensuring strong change management and adoption protocols.
  • Foster a high level of functional and technical expertise at all levels in the team providing internal and external training as required.
  • Lead discussions with data teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities where machine learning can be applied to real-world business opportunities. 
  • Demonstrate creative ability to recommend visualizations of data that empower key business stakeholders more easily interpret complex information and quickly identify key insights.
  • Orchestrate presentations and communications through effective conveying of complex analyses up to the leadership level.
  • Create growth opportunities and succession planning within team. Implement individualized development plans for high potential individuals
  • Conducts annual performance reviews and interim performance reviews.

What you need:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field with applicable data science work experience.
  • 8+ years of work experience required.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience required.
  • Experience leading peers through end-to-end data analytics projects: from problem and requirements definition to code/model validation and deployment.
  • Experience with data structures and programming languages central to data analytics (e.g., SQL, Python, R, DAX, M).
  • Experience leading data transformation and cleansing concepts and relational database and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience in data governance concepts including the need for documented definitions, calculations, sources, lineage, etc..
  • Experience in business intelligence and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Ability to recommend visualizations of data that empower key business stakeholders more easily interpret complex information and quickly identify key insights.
  • Experience managing and planning team's expenditures and provide guidance on evaluating financial impacts.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Data Science or quantitative discipline preferred.
