What You Will Achieve 

You will be part of a dynamic team of experts who form Pfizer’s Environmental, Health & Safety(EHS) division. Due to the importance of this team for Pfizer’s employees and patients, the organization relies heavily on its team members’ timely actions and decision-making ability. You will support the development of environmental programs that enable Pfizer operations to address environmental regulatory compliance obligations, effectively reduce environmental risks, enable sustainable products and processes, and drive environmental impact reduction opportunities. You will lead evaluation of EHS risks across the Pfizer internal network and ensure globally that all EHS compliances are appropriately managed. 

As a Senior Manager, you will be setting the objectives for multiple projects in your division. Your managerial and technical skills will help in guiding the team members. You will manage performance of direct and indirect reports and support Operating Unit objectives through goal setting, assessment, coaching and performance evaluation of team members.  Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will facilitate in instituting knowledge sharing practices in your team and outside. You shall be relied on to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and sets direction for its success.

How You Will Achieve It 

  • Develop long-term strategic planning for environmental operations and emergency services team. 

  • Set objectives for and manage multiple projects within a division, developing innovative, advanced new concepts that improve processes or products. 

  • Lead and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) audits of company facilities (all businesses, all regions).  

  • Review audit team progress before and during an audit, organize audit team resources (including consultants), audit scope development, scheduling and task assignment. 

  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and sustainable results across projects/programs, assessments and implement resulting action plans. 

  • Monitor emerging process safety requirements throughout the Industry and initiate proactive gap closure in terms of adoption of industry best practices. 

  • Develop risk assessment methods and tools for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards. 

  • Ensure that reports on the performance of the EHS management systems are communicated to the site leadership team and planned improvements are implemented where required. 

  • Promote employee involvement to prevent accidents, maintaining a hazard-free work environment and conduct/organize all related trainings. 

  • Lead communication strategies with external agencies on occupational health and safety matters. 

  • Ensure that EHS management system requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with Pfizer Corporate Requirements. 

  • Develop a talent base of high performing professionals and managers to deliver on business unit and strategic projects. 

  • Create a motivated, committed and engaged project team that fosters innovation and professional development. 

Qualifications 

Must-Have 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience. 

  • People Management experience. 

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work across multiple countries and cultures. 

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines associated with biosafety. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Project Management. 

  • Good understanding of safety and environmental programs and key processes. 

Nice-to-Have 

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience. 

  • Certification in recognized EHS specialties or professional license . 

  • Relevant specialization in EHS (e.g. lab safety, occupational hygiene, biosafety).  

  • Experience working in dynamic complex, matrixed business models.
