Role Overview

The BW/HANA Specialist will play a key role in the design, development, and global rollout of SAP BI solutions. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, functional teams, and external partners to deliver analytical and reporting solutions aligned with organizational standards and strategic goals.

The incumbent will participate in end-to-end implementation activities, including requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing coordination, and post–go-live support. A strong focus will be placed on adhering to SDLC standards and lifecycle management processes while ensuring high-quality, scalable BI solutions.

The role will also contribute to ongoing remediation initiatives related to the ECC to S/4HANA migration, working within a diverse, globally distributed team environment. This position requires strong technical expertise in SAP BW/HANA, effective cross-functional collaboration skills, and a commitment to operational excellence and knowledge sharing.

What will you do in this role

. As a BW/HANA Specialist you will
• Be part of implementation projects and contribute to rollout solutions globally
• Participate in requirements‑gathering sessions for Analytical/BI solutions together with senior team members
• Review Functional Specifications and identify standard vs. custom development needs
• Translate functional requirements into technical design with guidance, when needed
• Be responsible for development activities and coordinate selected tasks with external teams
• Support and help coordinate testing activities (SIT/UAT) with business teams
• Provide post‑go‑live and hyper care support and contribute to knowledge transfer sessions to support teams
• Follow company’s lifecycle management processes and ensure adherence to SDLC standards

Currently the SAP BI team is working on remediation activities with regards to ECC to S/4HANA migration. You will work in a diverse environment and collaborate with colleagues from different locations.

What should you have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years project experience in SAP BW and HANA development
• Functional/Business process knowledge of at least 1–2 SAP subject areas (focused on Analytics)
• Practical experience in requirements gathering and analysis for BW on HANA or Native HANA projects
• Good understanding of data modeling using calculation views, SQL Script and HANA functions
• Hands‑on experience building BW data flows (ADSOs, Transformations, Info Providers) and familiarity with mixed scenarios
• Knowledge of or interest in SAP Datasphere/BDC technologies is a plus
• Experience or exposure to S/4HANA migration topics impacting BW is a plus
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional, multicultural team environment
• Very good communication skills and ability to support multiple initiatives in a regulated pharma environment

• Strong understanding of HANA data modeling concepts, including:
  • Calculation Views

• Ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural, global teams

Secondary Skills
