ADI’s Module manufacturing operation is on a lean journey; implementing product teams, visual factory, and lean systems to meet growing customer demand.  The Manufacturing Supervisor will be a key team member in leading and implementing change to meet aggressive new hire training, process improvement and productivity goals.   Our Aerospace and Defense Operation located in Chelmsford, MA is growing and focused on the manufacture and test of highly complex, low to medium volume microwave electronics.  

Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees all production related activities in our micro-electronics assembly wirebond area.     The Manufacturing Supervisor reports to operations management and is responsible for quality of work, prioritization of work, communication, and completion of goals as determined with operations management, team leads, and planning.  

Responsibilities:

  • Directly supports and supervise regular and temporary employees in the wirebond assembly group supporting the module manufacturing team. 
  • Provide guidance, training and support to team members, monitoring performance to goals, organizing equipment and fixtures and ensuring staffing targets are met.  
  • Generate and communicate critical information to management and employees regarding factory and program status. Using visual factory and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) tracks products, setting priorities
  • Solve routine problems to ensure that product teams can meet performance goals: Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery.   Determine when to stop a process if risks to product quality or safety occur. 
  • Generate daily reports using the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other methods to report equipment and personnel status, problems, and solutions to engineering and  management.
  • Support daily tie-offs with other shifts and groups as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Treat all employees, customers, suppliers and co-workers with dignity and respect.  Embrace diversity and address unconscious bias in the workplace.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in supervising electronics manufacturing.   Experience in gold wire bonding of micro-electronics preferred.
  • Prefer candidates working towards AS or BS degree in an Engineering or Business field.
  • Able to create a team environment among co-workers by motivating and encouraging positive morale and teamwork, leading by example.
  • Ability to receive a Secret level security clearance is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and maintains a positive attitude
  • Very comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP a plus
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Shingo, and other Enterprise Excellence initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with a microscope
  • Able to use good judgment, exhibiting good problem-solving skills.
