The Interface Analyst has a primary responsibility for analyzing and coordinating development of HL7 interfaces between Varian’s ARIA Database and Customer’s HIS (Hospital Information System) Databases, such as Epic, Cerner, LabCorp, etc.  Varian either uses ARIA Connect (built upon Cloverleaf v6.2, 19.1 or 20.1) or their proprietary IEM (Interface Exchange Manager) to manage communication between the databases.  The Specialist works closely within a large team that includes customer and Varian Project Managers, Customer IT Systems, Clinical staff and 3rd party vendors to achieve successful interoperability and customer delight.

Will support the Western Region of the United States and Canada.

What you will do:

  • Ensures the successful development and programming of quality interfaces utilizing strong technical, organizational, and resource management skills
  • Converts existing customers’ interfaces from the IEM product to ARIA Connect product.
  • Configures new interfaces using the ARIA Connect and IEM products.
  • Provides technical guidance and recommendations to ensure customer interface requirements are successfully accomplished as part of product implementation
  • Responsible for writing interface specification documents, configuring, data manipulation, unit testing, and supporting of delivered interfaces.
  • Responsible for reporting found issues to Product Engineering
  • Competent and knowledgeable of HL7 standards, general HIS system integration and interface related practices within the healthcare environment to ensure appropriate application and integration of Varian OIS.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years directly related experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Cloverleaf interface engine
  • Knowledge and understanding of the HL7 2.3 and 2.5.1 Standard, the variations that can differ between vendors and clients and what constitutes allowable and invalid site-specific variations.
  • Understanding of additional standard messaging structures as well as communication protocols
  • Knowledge and understanding of the types of data used in the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge and Experience with other data interchange formats. Primarily HL7, XML, and XPATH but other business-to-business formats will be considered
  • Experience writing TCL scripts and procs is desired.
  • Knowledge and general understanding of database concepts and organization
  • Analytical and interpretive skills, including the ability to make recommendations to improve the business and interface processes.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational, planning, communication skills and able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must be comfortable with managing timelines and working successfully against deadlines

The base pay range for this position is

Min $85,800 - Max $154,300

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
