What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $120,000 to $140,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position, you can expect to be in the office three days per week. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
In this position you can expect to work on site at the Webb Municipal Building at least three days per week.

The Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for the fiscal health of the city. The DOF leads fiscal analysis and guidance, property assessments, budgeting, accounting functions, enforcement of fiscal policies, practices and procedures for the entire City and County of Denver. The DOF fulfills the state statutory responsibilities for tax assessment and collection. DOF also manages the City’s debt portfolio and investment portfolio. The DOF commits to delivering these services through a financial structure that reflects the best practices of both the public and private sectors. This commitment promotes better service, enhanced performance measures, maximum accountability, and improved business processes.

The City and County of Denver is seeking an innovative, inspiring and enthusiastic Director for the nationally recognized and emulated Peak Academy. This position will focus on guiding Peak and aligning work with citywide goals while maintaining a vision of elevating Peak and bridging task orientation with targeted strategies. Key Responsibilities
Lead the City’s Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Create a culture of continuous improvement in the City by ensuring deep relationships are created to strengthen the adoption of innovation practices by city employees and the city's management teams.
Ensure Peak’s project offerings meet current city demands, evolving to meet the needs of an ever-changing environment.
Manage the continuous improvement curriculum and ensure the curriculum is delivered in a high quality, motivating manner for City colleagues.
Ensure team is cross-trained in all project offerings and training curriculums, providing coaching, expertise and professional development to enhance current skill sets.
Meet with City department/agency leadership to understand their process improvement needs and make recommendations on methodology and training.
Measure and report out on data for all innovation projects in the city.
Use Peak’s national platform to share best practices, philosophy and tools widely in the public sector.
People & Culture
Lead and inspire a diverse and talented workforce.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of subordinate supervisors.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
