The role is part of Asia Pacific Product Strategy and Development team within AllianceBernstein’s Global Client Group (CG). The team partners with both the firm’s investment and distribution teams to guide the product lineup for one of its large-scale business lines or regions. The position will focus on supporting product development, implementation and oversight for the region, reporting to “Taiwan Head” of Product Strategy and Development.

AB is a global asset management firm that manages over $860 billion worldwide as of end of September 2025 and its products and services are used by institutional, professional and retail investors.

This position is based in Taipei.

The role represents an opportunity to join AB in a region where it developed an industry-leading position in multiple market segments. The successful candidate will gain a unique vantage point on the AB business, will be involved in projects in relation to a broad spectrum of investment products, will engage with senior stakeholders across the organization and will get exposed to strategic initiatives, with the potential to impact regional and global revenues stream of the Firm.

Because of its mandate and how it is positioned within the Firm, the Product Strategy and Development function offers its members great opportunities to potentially grow over time into more senior roles within AB, in product-related roles but also in other parts of the organization.

Role and Responsibilities

Manage and support product development projects in the region, leveraging various platforms (cross-border Luxembourg UCITS, local unit trusts, ETF, etc.), across a broad product spectrum (equities, fixed-income, multi-asset, alternatives, etc.).

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional groups to deliver innovative products optimizing existing platforms, and ensure alignment with AB’s global strategic goals.

Actively participate and facilitate product strategy discussions and initiatives, developing, when needed, fact-based data sets and translating analysis into implementable action plans with clear desired outcomes.

The scope of this role will include:

  • Drive and manage product development projects in an effective manner, applying AB projects and project standards, leveraging resources with the broader Product Strategy and Development team
  • Coverage may include, but is not limited to, markets including Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan   
  • Contribute to broader research projects for strategic product/business initiatives: data sourcing, fact-finding, analysis, business plans building, presentation of conclusions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from sales, operations, business development, marketing, risk, legal & compliance, to execute product launches in local markets
  • Support evaluation of setting up new platforms in key/new markets where appropriate
  • Provide market study supports to formulate product strategy proposals and identify gaps and opportunities
  • Manage continuous review of existing platform and:
    • raise awareness to sales and business development of products which could be ready for promotion or priority
    • assist with proposals around regional products that are candidates to be decommissioned
  • Drive and assist in product enhancement proposals and execution to create broader commercial appeal
  • Keep abreast of regional trends/competitor activity and develop a point of view on AB’s product development and platform priorities.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of regulatory developments and assess the impacts to the product ranges.
  • Take part in recurring tasks (market and industry updates, Product Development calls and related Committees, ad hoc fact-finding and reporting, etc.).

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field
  • Business proficiency in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English is a must; additional languages skills (esp. other Asian languages) are a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the asset management industry (including 2 years in product development role)
  • An understanding of retail funds market within the APAC region (some exposure to institutional/alternative services a plus)
  • A track-record in leading complex projects in a financial services context
  • High level understanding of mutual funds’ operational and legal key dimensions
  • Some understanding of Luxembourg/Asian markets’ mutual funds’ regulatory framework an important plus
  • Strong quantitative/numerical skills with previous experience to use data sets to support the build of business cases and facilitate decision-making process
  • Strategic mindset; able to articulate complex thinking in a clear and synthetic way
  • Highly detailed-oriented and organized
  • Approachable yet with the gravitas to engage with stakeholders at all seniority levels
  • Practical ability to prioritize and problem-solve
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure on multiple, changing priorities, adhering to tight deadlines
