Job Description Summary

The Senior Operation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business function to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. This role significantly impacts approaches, projects, and programs within the functional area or affected business organization, influencing the ways of safety, working, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. The position requires moderate autonomy and high levels of operational judgment, guided by professional practices and policies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Manage overall operations to achieve defined targets in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Ensure continuous business improvement according to industry benchmarks and standards.

Specialized Knowledge and Best Practices:

  • Develop and maintain specialized knowledge in your discipline.
  • Serve as a best practice and quality resource.
  • Stay aware of the latest technical developments in your area and contribute to strategy and policy development.
  • Ensure delivery within your area of responsibility.

Market and Competitive Awareness:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others.
  • Have a working knowledge of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Decision Making and Problem Solving:

  • Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Take new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • Utilize technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Leverage multiple internal and external sources outside of your own function to arrive at decisions.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus.
  • Develop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within your field.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership to the team in the execution of safety (EHS), quality, cycle, productivity, maintenance initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in Manufacturing & Operation Management.
  • Knowledge level comparable to a master’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
