In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the best care for patients. The primary purpose of the Health Informatics ClinDoc/Stork position is to research, design, program, test, install, and maintain assigned programs and systems. Using evidence-based practice, Health Informaticists contribute to patient safety by developing clinical protocols, documentation templates, and decision-support rules in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.


Your Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, or other related fields.
  • Equivalent work experience can replace the educational requirement.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas preferred – if licensed, maintain a current license.
  • Certification in Epic Clindoc or Stork applications is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in nursing or other clinical environment is preferred.
  • Three to five or more years of experience implementing or supporting electronic health record applications is preferred.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands and can articulate user needs and problems and determines the feasibility of solutions. 
  • Uses clinical knowledge and hospital experience to assist in supporting clinical applications. 
  • May be called upon as a technical resource for other project teams.  Provides on-call support to MDMC, MCMC, MMMC, MRMC, MCCC, MRCC, MLMC, MSMC, and Methodist Addison and McKinney Surgical Centers during non-business hours.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage many jobs simultaneously, balancing priorities, deadlines, and time.  The work is highly technical, and the incumbent is often required to work independently. 
  • Demonstrates ability to personally complete all aspects of a project in a reliable, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Develops design specifications and implementation schedules for application changes.
  • Assesses, plans, designs, implements, and evaluates clinical workflow and business processes and runs performance maintenance reports on tools to define technology needs.
  • Performs or ensures system maintenance and testing is complete for requested changes and updates/new releases for all assigned applications.
  • Communicate with the Team Lead, senior informaticists, other informaticists, leadership, and users to develop system requirements and solutions. 
  • Logs, tracks, and resolves problems related to the application system with system vendors.
  • Maintains current detailed system documentation for assigned applications.
  • Continually assesses the education needs of end users about technology solutions.  Plans and contributes to formal and informal education for staff. 
  • Works collaboratively with team members and informs leadership of all events about the operations of assigned applications and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
