The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager, Transportation Services this position is responsible for transporting medically stable clients to and from medical appointments, leisure activities/programs, and to and from home, following a preplanned route and defined time schedule. Key responsibilities include ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients while on boarding/off boarding, transporting, and accompanying clients to and from the desired location.
In keeping with Traffic Regulations, Carewest’s Frame of Reference and Philosophy of Care this position maintains professional, ethical and safe standards at all times and provides excellent customer service. Other responsibilities include completing various forms and records, including updated route sheets, time sheets, and incident and accident reports. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from Grade 12 is required Valid Alberta class 2-4 drivers’ license required;
- Clean drivers abstract required;
- First Aid is an asset
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional driving a bus or large vehicle is preferred;
- Training in Q’Straint – 4 Point Securement Systems an asset;
- This position requires high attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are required;
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset
