About the role

Speed is our edge. But as team size grows, friction creeps in: slower CI, flaky tests, duplicated patterns, tribal knowledge that never gets written down, tooling that stops working. Left alone, small taxes compound into serious drag. 

We need someone who wakes up thinking about how to make every engineer here 10x more effective.

What you'll do:

• Make CI/CD fast and boring. Shave time off builds, kill flaky tests, make shipping easy
• Hunt down tech debt and build abstractions around duplicated code.
• Measure what matters by improving our observability and monitoring. Build times, deploy frequency, time-to-first-commit. Know if we're getting faster or slower.
• Unblock people. Jump into unfamiliar code, debug gnarly issues, get teammates back to their actual work.
• Automate the tedious. Find manual processes that shouldn't be.
• Spread good patterns. Make sure useful things travel faster than bad habits.
• Ship full stack code across our Next.js frontend and Ruby on Rails backend.
