Caregivers at Cleveland Clinic Martin Hospital’s Wound Center are dedicated to healing chronic wounds, preventing lower limb loss and optimizing outcomes for patients. Our team provides expert inpatient and outpatient wound care services that promote healing and lower your risk of complications. As an RN on the Wound Care team, you will assist with wound care dressings, wound vacs, compression wraps, casting and more. You will also provide education to patients and families to optimize treatment. By taking on this opportunity, you will have the chance to join the ostomy wound care committee, earn wound care certifications and climb the clinical ladder.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform telephone triage.
Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.
Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.
Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.
Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.
Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
Previous wound care experience
Ostomy experience
