Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Item, Retail & Promotional Specialist provides administrative and tactical support to the Category Manager, Buyer, Stores, and Department to ensure the accuracy and efficient management of product information, pricing, promotions, and vendor data.

This role requires 4 days in office for up to 6 months to learn the role and then will be able to shift to 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote. This role is located in St Louis, Missouri.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform data workflow facilitation from promotion systems to item maintenance and maintain accuracy for items, retails, promotions,

  • and vendor data, including new item/vendor setups and promotional deals. Execute AI and other workflow enabled processes to drive efficiency.

  • Coordinate and ensure accuracy of ad features, including market versions, photographs, item details, and descriptions for print and digital platforms.

  • Interface with vendors, stores, accounting, warehousing, and advertising to resolve issues such as item sourcing, customer requests, markdowns, and discrepancies.

  • Assemble and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.

  • Manage vendor portal access and provide training for onboarding new suppliers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Education: Associate’s degree/Junior College

  • Undergraduate education preferred but not required.

  • Experience in retail operations, data quality/pricing audits, merchandising practices, or store operations preferred.

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of merchandising processes and retail operations.

  • Understanding of data entry/workflow and data accuracy principles.

  • Familiarity with vendor management and onboarding processes.

  • Knowledge of promotional deal structures and ad feature coordination.

  • Understanding of inventory and item sourcing concepts.

  • Understanding of Data Domains and the critical data elements and processes within the respective domain.

  • Deep understanding of Schnucks Item Maintenance and MASS applications
