About the role:

Help us shape the future of no-code/low-code development as an Engineering Manager for Ditto's App Platform. This team builds intuitive, self-serve tools that enable customers to create mobile applications powered by Ditto directly from their web browser. They will also develop and maintain standalone apps using these tools. Additionally, the team owns the code that powers key user experiences, including sign-up, account management, app creation, and third-party integrations with Ditto’s technology.

Your role will involve leading a team of engineers to develop highly scalable, performant, and user-friendly applications. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless experiences across web and mobile platforms.

As the Engineering Manager, You Will:

• Lead, Mentor, and Grow: Guide a distributed team of 6–8 skilled engineers, supporting their technical success, career development, and personal growth. Provide mentorship and coaching to help team members achieve their full potential.
• Deliver Excellence: Plan and execute high-quality engineering solutions that align with business and technical goals.
• Architect and Optimize: Drive best practices in front-end and mobile architecture, ensuring modularity, reusability, and performance optimization.
• Shape the Roadmap: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and execute the vision for Ditto’s no-code platform and Customer Portal.
• Deploy and Maintain Mobile Apps: Oversee the development and deployment of iOS and Android applications, ensuring smooth submission processes to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Foster Culture: Set an example by cultivating a culture of trust, collaboration, and continual improvement aligned with Ditto’s core values.

What You’ll Need:

• Management Experience: 3+ years managing software engineering teams, including responsibilities like hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in front-end and/or mobile development, with a strong understanding of modern frameworks, state management, and performance optimization.
• Mobile App Development: Proven track record of shipping mobile apps, including familiarity with deployment processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Full-Stack Architecture: Experience designing and implementing scalable, component-driven front-end systems and well-structured back-end services, ensuring maintainability and performance.
• Modern Tooling & Pipelines: Solid understanding of front-end build tools (Webpack, Gradle, Xcode, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to manage remote, distributed teams with strong asynchronous communication skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication to effectively convey complex ideas and align team efforts.
• Proactive Leadership: A high level of self-direction, autonomy, and responsibility in leading teams and driving projects forward.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience building or working with no-code/low-code platforms.
• Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design principles.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Kotlin, and Swift.
• Knowledge of best practices in accessibility and UI/UX for web and mobile applications.
