About this Role

Carrier has an opening for a Computer Science Major or Software Engineering Major to serve as a vital member of the eDesign team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining software-based tools used to design and optimize the energy efficiency of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial buildings.  eDesign tools are used by thousands of engineering firms worldwide in their business.  This position is based in Syracuse, NY.

The candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Developing desktop application software for HVAC system design and energy modeling.

• Analyzing software requirements and designing software solutions.

• Coding to implement solutions.

• Working collaboratively with other developers for planning, design & code review, test planning, etc.

• Performing unit and system testing.

• Participating in Agile development process.

• Participating in team project meetings.

• Evaluating and identifying new libraries, tools, and technologies for use by the software development team, as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any engineering field (Junior or Senior Level).

• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous internship experience preferred.

• Demonstrated experience working on independent, self-motivated tasks, with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Experience with software development principles and processes

• Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation communication skills.

• Proficiency with C# and .NET

• Understanding of object-oriented design and analysis (OOD and OOA)

• Technology experience including Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, JSON, WPF, XAML.

Pay Range

The salary for this position is between $36,750– $127,500 annually.
