Job Summary

Are you looking for an exciting position in the aviation industry where you can apply your analytical skills? As an Organizational Performance Analyst, you will work within a diverse team to provide analytical support and insights that drive strategic initiatives within the aviation industry. You will be responsible for the collection and analysis of corporate performance data that will be used to create compelling reports, forecasts, and presentations. Through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external industry partners, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects and assignments that aim to provide actionable insights based on the latest industry events and trends.

This is a junior position within a team of analysts. Candidates are expected to be able to draw on past work, volunteer, or internship experience.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute towards NAV CANADA’s measurement and forecasting of organizational performance and help tackle key aviation challenges such as resilience and sustainability.

  • Work with internal business units to collect and analyze data from various sources that enable timely dissemination of routine and ad-hoc reports

  • Conduct in-depth analysis and develop processes to create various reports

  • Collaborate with team members on industry research questions

  • Develop and maintain the production of monthly routine and ad-hoc reports, as well as identify areas to improve accuracy and efficiency

  • Package analytical results into presentations and effectively communicate findings to a non-technical audience

  • Support enhancements of analytical processes and related quality assurance initiatives to improve data accuracy and efficiency

  • Enhance the documentation of existing processes and identify potential new data sources to further research future objectives.

  • Research economic and global aviation trends within Canada and internationally to support NAV CANADA’s Organizational Performance goals.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma is required

  • University Bachelor’s Degree  in a field such as Computer Science, Data & Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics and Statistics or an acceptable combination of other relevant education, experience, and training

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant work experience in data and analytics or an acceptable combination of education and work experience.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of data collection, manipulation, and validation to create content for reports and presentations

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software

  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Power BI

Abilities:

  • Ability to organize, analyze and synthesize data

  • An understanding of the core principals in quantitative and qualitative research

  • Ability to work independently to plan, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Analytical skills that can find meaning and patterns in data, as well as the ability to stay focused during repetitive analysis

  • Communication and data journalism skills that help communicate results of analysis via effective storytelling and interactive visualizations

Working conditions:

  • This position is based at Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
