About the Role:

The Software Development Engineer 2 will work with our Core Trade teams. You’ll work with dynamic and productive engineers, building an ultra-high throughput and low latency trading system and the tools needed to run it. You’ll work with leading technologies to re-engineer our mission-critical trading stack to be industrial-grade. You’ll work hands-on across our trading applications, directly with the business, quants, and our trade desk. 

The proper candidate will have experience building applications and working in a highly-available and scalable environment. We seek someone who has exceptional attention to detail and values simplicity over complexity in code and communication. You will express your opinions confidently about what you create while also providing constructive feedback on things you haven't.

What You'll Do:

  • Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders, including trade desks, quants, product managers, risk, and compliance
  • Responsible for the technical design and delivery of new Java backend projects 
  • Work with the Broker-Dealer operations and compliance teams to support and enhance the trading system
  • Work within your team to set and execute specific goals and deliverables
  • Partner with business and technical leadership to imagine, develop, test, and launch applications

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years of experience with low latency, high throughput, distributed systems
  • Experience with multithreading and concurrency in Java
  • Knowledge of Java fundamentals, data structures, and best practices for modern software development
  • Must understand how to write effective unit and integration tests with Gherkin syntax
  • Experience in agile software development and production deployment
  • Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software 
  • Experience with a 24x7, highly-available architecture
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills. An ability to explain technical concepts and designs understandably to a broad audience
  • Experience with Python, React, and Typescript are nice-to-have

Compensation
Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.
