Group Security within the Technology division of CommBank leads the safeguarding of the Group through Cyber, Fraud and Business Resilience programs and services.

A diverse team, Operational Resilience plans for and retains the ability to respond and recover from major disruptive risk events including safety and security events, technology and payment issues, and cyber or privacy issues.

The Manager Operational Resilience reports to the Executive Manager Operational Resilience who reports into the Group Security, Resilience Lead.

Do work that matters

As Manager Operational Resilience, you will execute the program and activities required to enhance the Operational Resilience frameworks. This will require partnering with and complementing the full range of resilience disciplines including Business Continuity, Crisis Management, IT Service Management and Recovery, Cyber Security, Supply Chain Resilience and Operational Risk Teams.

In any given day of the week your responsibilities will include providing day to day and project leadership for;

  • Coordinating and driving the design, implementation and assurance of Operational Resilience policies and frameworks.
  • Maintaining and reviewing Critical Operation Business Continuity Plans.
  • Providing strategic advice and training to business areas across the Bank’s Critical Operations to enhance organisational resilience maturity.
  • Supporting the development of incident response strategies which enhance recovery capability.
  • Developing, building and providing insights and reporting on gaps, issues and compliance performance.
  • Identifying, documenting and UAT for enhancements to Readinow Rufus, the Group’s business continuity tool.
  • Being flexible and assisting with any other resilience activities needed to respond to challenge.
  • Coordinating program and project meetings including the distribution of packs, developing agendas and minutes/actions.
  • Mapping team activities and milestones in Jira.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • A broad perspective on Operational Resilience including an interest in any, or several of the resilience disciplines - i.e., Business Continuity and Crisis Management, IT Service Continuity Management, Cyber Security, Supply Chain Resilience and Operational Risk Teams.
  • An established reputation for being a strong team player who shows initiative and can liaise across teams with demonstrated Care, Courage and Commitment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into something clear, concise and consumable.
  • Diligent stakeholder management and ability to build interpersonal relationships at all levels across domestic and international teams.
  • Able to work with ambiguity.
  • Problem solving skills to unblock and drive outcomes.
  • A passion for Operational Resilience and safeguarding our customers, businesses and stakeholders.
  • An interest in Operational Risk Management, incident response or program management.
  • Experience in agile ways of working / pace, including the ability to independently manage team and project JIRA boards, identify and escalate dependencies, execution risks, actions, issues and decisions
