Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Retail Production Senior Manager to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site within our California footprint.

Under general direction of the Head of Retail, responsible for the management of all Retail Banking sales activities, including management of Retail Production Managers and related responsibilities. Performs strategic sales planning and execution of strategic initiatives. Works closely with Retail Production Managers to ensure achievement of Retail Banking sales goals and objectives in their respective markets. Responsible for achieving all goals and financial targets set for Retail Banking. Creates and administers ongoing sales campaigns and develops a motivational sales environment for all employees of Retail Banking. Trains and coaches Retail employees on sales skills including planning, prospecting, calling, and closing. Hires top talent and high potential candidates, develops individual performers, identifies and promotes top performers. Provides senior management throughout the Retail branch footprint through the leadership of Retail Production Managers. Collaborates with internal and external sales partners to maximize engagement and revenue.  

What you will do:

  • Manage all sales functions of Retail Banking.  Responsible for budget setting, goal distribution, communications, tracking, reporting, ranking, pipeline, recognition, rewards, and performance coaching. 

  • Oversight of Retail Production Managers, providing branch coaching, development and oversight of the Retail Banking division through subordinate managers.   

  • Responsible for approving manager actions related to performance management, terminations, hires, disciplinary actions and salary changes.

  • Supports the management of external sales vendor relationships and collaborates with internal partner leads to maximize engagement and revenue.   

  • Identifies training needs and oversees the development of appropriate production curriculum.  Ensures managers fulfill their staff responsibilities by coaching, recognizing, rewarding and motivating staff to retain high performers. 

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum 5 Years of applicable experience required. High School or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Superior leadership skills to lead and motivate Retail employees to achieve established goals. Develops and executes both vision and strategy to meet those goals.

  • Thorough knowledge of standard banking services and products and banking internal operating policies and procedures.

  •  Ability to assess Retail Branches within the Region for actions to increase production and improve efficiency.

  • Subject-matter expert with regards to banking industry practices for small business and consumer credit, business and consumer products, small business structures.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; successful experience managing and leading people. Considered a customer service role model. Must maintain effective relationships with peers.

  • Excellent business development skills, particularly related to financial service products.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff from a variety of backgrounds.

  • Ability to motivate employees to provide excellent customer service, demonstrate initiative, and achieve results.

  • Excellent knowledge of current applicable federal and state banking regulations.

Pay Range:  $165,000-$200,000 salary

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
