Job title:
In this role, you have the opportunity to Lead cooling unit system design, field issue resolution, and quality improvement by integrating design, validation, and supplier management to ensure system reliability and lifecycle performance.
Your role:
Define and manage cooling unit system requirements (thermal, hydraulic, mechanical) aligned with system-level needs
Lead cooling unit architecture and design solution development with focus on reliability, performance, and cost
Drive design trade-offs across thermal performance, manufacturability, and serviceability
Own cooling unit field issue analysis, root cause investigation and corrective actions (CAPA)
Lead cross-functional problem solving (CU / Generator / System / Supplier) to ensure fast issue containment and long-term fix
Build and maintain failure analysis knowledge base and drive systematic improvement
Define validation strategy for cooling unit (performance / reliability / stress conditions)
Lead correlation between simulation (CFD/FEA) and test data to improve model accuracy
Conduct and review FMEA to proactively identify risk and drive mitigation
Ensure design assurance activities and compliance with design control process
Drive quality-by-design mindset across development lifecycle
Support documentation and traceability aligned with QMS requirements
Align with system, generator, and global teams to ensure interface compatibility and design consistency
Translate project strategy into actionable plans and drive execution
Influence stakeholders to ensure quality actions are implemented
Lead supplier technical engagement, including design review and issue resolution
Support supplier selection and capability development
Ensure cooling unit manufacturing quality and process stability
You're the right fit if:
Education & Core Expertise
Master or PhD in Thermal Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related field
Strong knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
Cooling System Expertise
Hands-on experience in oil/water cooling system design and application
Good understanding of heat exchanger design and system integration
Experience in cooling system testing and validation
Engineering & Analysis
Familiar with CFD / thermal simulation and mechanical FEA
Able to correlate simulation and test results to improve design accuracy
Experience with hydraulic components (pump, valve, fan, etc.)
Tools & Practical Engineering
Mechanical design tools (SolidWorks / SolidEdge / Creo etc.)
FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS / COMSOL / FlowEFD etc.)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding)
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration and influencing
Ability to drive topics end-to-end with ownership
Good communication skills in English (spoken & written)
