Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of Disney Experience business segment. Representing more than 150 disciplines, its talented corps of Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects.
 
As the Senior Finance Analyst supporting WDI Asia Region, you will serve as a strategic partner for the overall business start-up and regional strategy development for Imagineering Asia. This role will provide on-going support during implementation of the WDI Shanghai. This role reports to the Finance Project Executive, International.
 

Responsibilities 

Strategic

  • Development of the business plan (staffing and others) and a long-term business model to position WDI Asia to deliver value to the Asian portfolios with healthy financial performances
  • Support the development of the Long Term Plan for the Imagineering Asia organization, including ongoing refinement of the business model and longer-term infrastructure requirements
  • Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan and monthly forecasts
  • Assist in developing strategy and communications to engage with internal and external partners (TWDC, government, etc.)
  • Serve as a local/regional partner to Global Development and site Business Development teams to coordinate WDI Asia’s strategy and deal input and resources
  • Provide the management reporting and ad hoc analysis required to make effective business decisions.

Operational

  • Support production finance for Shanghai Audio Animatronics® studio for its production works for global Disney portfolios
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and other necessary infrastructure for the start-up and ramp up of Shanghai Audio Animatronics® studio
  • Execute ongoing operations of the Walt Disney Imagineering Asia Limited company pursuant to key strategic priorities in collaboration with key partners for statutory compliance, financial, and operation matters:
    • Develop and administer regional labor rates in collaboration with US finance team
    • Monthly cash flow and funding needs with WDI finance and corporate treasury
    • Vendor contracting approach with WDI Legal and WDI Contracts Administration
    • Monitor intercompany costs and invoices to ensure that costs are routed to the appropriate entity
    • Ensure alignment and coordination between Glendale and Share Services finance teams
    • Work with local tax team to ensure appropriate procedures are in place to support work and facilitate remittances from respective Disney portfolio entities
    • Partner with Shared Services and Tax on annual entity audits
    • SAP set-up with corporate financial systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • Diverse strategic and financial management experience gained with reputable organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day tasks, while effectively influencing senior management on key decisions and direction
  • Demonstrate ability to connect and influence others in order to achieve organizational priorities
  • Proven ability to successfully operate in a highly matrix organizational system where partnership and influence are key drivers of success
  • Has shown a value for initiating change and acting with integrity when tough decisions have to be made
  • Demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, strategic planning, and process management skills
