We are in search of a Business Systems Analyst to join our task force at the CIO/Enterprise Infrastructure/Service Management Office located in Reston, VA. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accuracy and completeness of configuration items (CIs).
  • Support regular audits and reconciliations of CMDB data to identify and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Implement data quality controls and processes to ensure the integrity of CMDB information.
  • Monitor data entry and usage to ensure compliance with established standards and policies. 
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to assess the impact of changes on configuration items and ensure that the CMDB is updated accordingly.
  • Review and approve CI changes, ensuring alignment with configuration management policies.  
  • Work closely with IT teams (e.g., Asset Management, Major Incident Management) to ensure accurate CI representation and data sharing.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in configuration management. 
  • Assist in root cause analysis and problem management activities by providing accurate CI data.
  • Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on CMDB usage and best practices. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements related to the CMDB and configuration management practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 – 4 years of relevant experiences, which should include experience working within an ITSM environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB, and ITSM required.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Teams, Vision, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal skills; tact, patience, courtesy, and good listening skills.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, prioritization and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • US Citizenship is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations Certification
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working as part of a global team; across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, story writing, test plan development and working on projects using agile methodologies and best practices.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
