About the Role:

The Global Privacy Manager plays an important role in supporting Neurocrine’s mission to conduct business with the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day privacy operations and leading the execution of cross-functional privacy initiatives. This role provides guidance and direction across business functions, ensuring adherence to the company's privacy framework, assisting with remediation of privacy compliance gaps, and embedding privacy best practices across all business functions. This role requires exceptional judgment, analytical capability, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across the organization.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Assist the Privacy Counsel to implement and maintain a comprehensive privacy program aligned with US and international regulations, including but not limited to GDPR, HIPAA, Switzerland's FADP, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and various US state privacy laws

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the privacy program, including implementation and oversight of a privacy platform, privacy recordkeeping, risk assessments, data subject rights processes, and incident response

  • Remain up to date on evolving privacy laws, regulations, and enforcement trends that may impact the business; assist with the review and approval of updates to company policies, procedures, or guidelines as needed

  • Apply sound judgment and analytical rigor in evaluating documentation, identifying potential risks, and determining appropriate findings and escalation pathways

  • Assist with the development of privacy compliance training and communication materials that promote employee awareness, accountability, and adherence to company standards

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners enterprise-wide —including Legal, IT, HR, Clinical, and Commercial—to integrate privacy compliance considerations into daily business operations and strategic planning

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent and 6+ years of experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical or medical device industry OR

  • Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical or medical device industry

  • Privacy or Compliance and Ethics Professional Certification preferred

  • Proven experience implementing and managing privacy strategies and compliance frameworks, monitoring activities, and/or training and communications programs in a highly regulated environment

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and apply them to practical business situations

  • Prior experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing decision-making at senior levels

  • Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare compliance requirements, global privacy and data protection standards, and best practices

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with a focus on execution and accountability

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and integrity

  • High degree of initiative, adaptability, and collaboration in a fast-paced, matrixed organization

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with privacy management platforms, compliance management systems, case management tools, or learning platforms preferred

  • Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to move forward multiple cross-functional projects and provide clear, actionable guidance

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $132,700.00-$182,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
