JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Extrusion Technician I is responsible for the production of high-quality medical device components using extrusion processes. This includes operating and maintaining extrusion equipment, handling raw materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate extrusion machinery to produce tubing and other components.
- Handle raw materials: obtain, dry, and manage logistics.
- Collect tubing using various methods (e.g., conveyor, winding).
- Accurately label and package finished products.
- Complete and maintain detailed production documentation.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including clean-room protocols.
- Perform equipment setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or clean-room environment is a plus.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and follow safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
- 1–3 years of experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, cGMP, FDA, or USDA regulations.
- Experience with metrology tools (e.g., laser mic, tool scope).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
The base pay for this position is
$19.15 – $38.35/hour
