Role Focus:

As a cloud operations specialist, you will work with cloud computing fundamentals and need to have experience with VNF/CNF and knowledge of the ETSI framework. You will handle operations on HDS8000 or Dell hardware and should be familiar with Shell scripting, as well as basic skills in Ansible, Python, OpenStack, and Kubernetes

Key responsibilities:

1. Responsible to maintain cloud infra components and make sure it’s healthy.
2. Identify and troubleshoot HW or SW related issue and take ownership till it resolve.
3. Support our telco cloud tenants/ customers
4. Identify repeated tasks in cloud operation work and automate the same.
5. Work seamlessly to support existing cloud upgrades to latest versions.
6. Cloud related incident and change management
7. Perform operation acceptance testing after every upgrade or new cloud site addition in our setup
8. Troubleshoot the fault and come up with mitigation plan, major in Linux, OpenStack or Kubernetes

Essential Skills:

•    Minimum of 7+ years of Telecom industry experience, professional experience in IP Networking. (e.g. lifecycle management, configuration management, network troubleshooting, virtualized deployments, end-to-end testing).
•    Experience in operating and configuring Cisco routers (preferably IOS-XR). 
•    Strong Linux skills.
•    Experience in 4G/5G Mobile Network architectures and Operational Support will be an advantage.
•    Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Technology / Telecommunications 
•    Experience in Operations and Engineering in the Cloud or related discipline.
•    Understanding of Virtual Network Function (VNF), Containerised network function (CNF) applications in Cloud computing, preferably in Ericsson HDS8000 & CNIS.
•    Knowledge in Openstack & Kubernetes.
•    Strong programming skills in Ansible and Python for the development of automation.
•    Coding/scripting knowledge and capabilities in mainstream languages and code development standards (e.g. Python, Perl, Ansible) 
•    Experience with Telstra’s New Ways of Working methodology, practices, and mindset:
o    Agile, DevOps, Lean, Human Centred Design
o    Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, BitBucket
