The Media Processing & Distribution team on the hunt for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the development and enhancement of backend systems, emphasizing scalability, dependability, and performance.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and enhance our backend systems, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance. This role demands expertise in backend programming languages, cloud solutions, and data processing flows.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement scalable backend services using modern programming languages.
• Orchestrate data streams with Kafka to ensure high throughput and data integrity.
• Utilize AWS cloud services to build and maintain high-availability infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance code quality through unit tests, automation, and code reviews.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services.
• Engage in solving sophisticated problems and devising innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in 1 or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Scala).
• Experience with 1 or more cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proficiency with streaming data frameworks like Kafka.
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
We’d love to see:
•Experience with Scala (ZIO, Akka)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis, ScyllaDB).
• Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb).
• Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes
• Eagerness to tackle new challenges and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
