Head of Commercial

Full time, office-based role in Islington.

We are looking for a Head of Commercial to support our branch in Islington, North London.

As the Head of Commercial you will be responsible for all commercial & process to ensure the maximisation of profit & cashflow. Carry out audits and forecasts, ensuring all tenders are supported efficiently.

Prepare regular internal status reports, including monthly finance and commercial review packs identifying current and potential risk and opportunity.

Ensuring the customer experience is central to all activities and a efficient and productive service is delivered to service users and clients.

About the Role:

The Successful Head of Commercial will lead on all commercial & financial aspects relating to the delivery of multiple Social Housing Planned Works Projects, ensuring the business is operated on sound commercial principles and mitigating commercial risk to ensure the provision of a high performing customer focussed service embedded from positive team ethics.

You will be a part of a team supporting high standard commercial activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class commercial acumen, customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.

Our project in Islington is a very different and exciting project in comparison to other projects; We only complete planed capital investment works spending between 20-25million a year on all repairs from new roofs on building blokes, redecorating the entire estate and replacing communal areas. Any planned improvement works; we will complete.

Role Criteria:

  • ONC/D in Construction, Quantity Surveying or Estimating
  • Experience and proven track record as QS in commercial environment.
  • Experience in social housing sector
  • Experience as a line manager within a commercial environment.
  • Experience of partnership/alliance/ collaborative working.
  • Experience of handling multiple tasks in a high volume, rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrate previous hands on experience at Senior Management level.
  • Financially literate with a track record of working in a Financial environment with accounting experience
  • Must be able to influence, negotiate, drive change, effectively challenge and communicate at all levels
  • Proactive results driven mind-set.
  • Detailed understanding of financial processes and the cost drivers of a business in a growth phase
