What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years’ college or AA degree preferred with 2 years of relevant business experience.
  • Two (2) years of relevant business experience. Experience with a mental health agency is preferred.

How you will make a difference (Job Overview):

This position has primary responsibility for oversight and coordination of referrals for programs across the state. This position processes all referral documentation, including eligibility, primary contacts, client data, and special needs. Acts as primary liaison to referring agencies. Has responsibility for managing clinical staff NPI and taxonomy codes in the EMR. The position also has oversight of client service authorization in the EM.

Division/Program Overview:

As the Intake Coordinator, manage the referral process to ensure compliance with Star View Community Services standards. Act as a resource and consultant to the community, recommending suitable referrals to contracted mental health and community providers. Support Center Directors and Supervisors in assigning clients to Mental Health Specialists and coordinate non-MediCal eligible referrals with the Finance Operations Supervisor. Maintain referral logs, waiting lists, client referral census, tracking reports, and funding eligibility systems in collaboration with the Billing Manager. Report on unassigned clients, specialized service referrals, and other issues to the appropriate Center Director or Administrator. Communicate with clinical and non-clinical staff, assist in crisis intervention via phone, and handle incoming referral calls and mail. Obtain Payor Financial Information forms, arrange payments for families, and coordinate with Finance Operations Managers. Manage clinical staff NPI and taxonomy codes, service authorizations in the EMR, and prepare referral financial records and authorizations. Input monthly reports and reconciliations, assist in general office tasks, and provide coverage for Finance Operations Managers as needed.

Grade State Range: 18.06 - 25.29 USD Hourly
