Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite.

The Risk Data Insights & Analytics crew within Risk Technology support the Risk Management function and is responsible for using data to help the Bank make better Risk decisions, prevent financial loss, support compliance to internal & external standards and provide insights across the Banks portfolio. This includes delivering strategic programs of work relating to data, data management, visualisation and reporting through data analytics and data science.

The Customer Data Management & Optimisation team, is a Risk Data Solution team that specialise in delivering solutions to complex problems using data, technology & team collaboration. The focus for the team is primarily within the Customer & Non-Retail Credit space & incorporates the full value chain of credit. This includes the assessment/aggregation of credit through to the Risk Weighted Asset position taken for the credit in the Risk Management function. The team are high achievers & are consistently dropped into new challenges requiring quick resolutions.

Do work that matters:

The position of Manager Risk Data Solutions, will report to the Chapter Lead of the Customer Data Management & Optimisation team. The main focus for the role will be to:

  • Support the identification & remediation of data quality issues impacting the Banks Risk / Financial position

  • Develop systems, solutions & analytics to support the ever growing need to utilise data to improve & grow the Bank to improve customer outcomes.

  • Work with teams across the Bank to support the discovery & delivery of solutions.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop a Data Quality monitoring / remediation solution that can accommodate multiple data quality dimensions (e.g. completeness, accuracy) & data quality use cases (e.g. rule sets for: non retail credit data, for credit aggregation data, for customer data)

  • Coordinate remediation activities with business, support units & data offices

  • Provide analysis, insights & visualisation into the data quality health

  • Coordinate the data consumption from multiple data sources.

  • Collaborate & support the delivery data based solutions

  • Use Design Thinking and ideation principles in the development of user focused data visualisations.

  • Enhance the level of knowledge, best practice and value add of analytics within the wider Risk team.

  • 5+ years of programming in SQL, Python to perform data analysis and transformations.

  • Solid experience is using Teradata, Oracle & visual studio

  • 5+ years expertise in data visualisation tools: Tableau.

  • Expert knowledge in data analytics using large amounts of data from multiple sources

  • Solid experience in data used in customer, credit, credit assessments & risk weighted assets

  • Solid experience in delivering technical solutions

  • Solid experience in analysis and requirements gathering

  • Experience in data management methodologies & practices

  • End-to-end analytic project delivery experience including scoping work, planning, conducting analysis, making recommendations, and developing presentations.

  • Strong computer literacy, with advanced skills in MS Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Good stakeholder management: confident in driving problem solving and capable to influence business decisions.

  • Understanding of risk management processes coupled with insights into the banking sector.
