NTU MSE is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join us as a Research Fellow to facilitate the research program in advanced microscopy funded by Singapore's National Research Foundation and led by Nanyang Assistant Professor Yi-Sheng (Eason) Chen, the PI and a new MSE faculty member. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of project goals

  • Conduct high-quality research and disseminate outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences

  • Participate in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate researchers

  • Collaborate with local/overseas research groups

  • Establish one or more independent research programmes under the guidance of PI and other senior mentors

  • Develop competitive funding proposals in collaboration with PI and other senior colleagues

  • Engage in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation

  • Contribute to the development of international and local research communities

  • Support the operation of PI's research group, including recuitment and external engagement

  • Engage in developing and mainting a safe and inclusive work environment 

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Materials Science or fields relating to computational materials science

  • Good knowledge and experience in atom probe tomography and the related data processing

  • Good skills in programming, including Python, C/C++, and UNIX/Linux operating systems

  • Strong background in code development and machine learning

  • Good skills in working independently and communicating as a part of a team

  • Good attitude in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
