School Crossing Guard

Provo City is looking for part-time crossing guards to assist the community with ensuring safe travel for students to and from school. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $15.00 per shift. Payment will be by direct deposit.

What are the main duties? 

• Assist children to and from school at designated crosswalks at their assigned post.

• Assist the crossing guard supervisor as needed and perform other related duties as required.

 
What do I need to apply?

• Must be able to respond to work site twice per day and work in adverse weather conditions and heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

• Requires visual and hearing abilities sufficient to safely perform the duties.

• Must have good rapport with children.

 
NOTE: Individuals applying for this position must be at least 18 years of age and have their own transportation.

What are the hours and location?

Location and hours of position will be discussed at time of interview.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

Work requires exposure to all weather conditions, working in and around heavy traffic, and standing and walking for extended periods.

What is the selection process?

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
