Job Description

The Men’s Basketball Director of Basketball Operations (MBB DOBO) coordinates the business and event operations of the MBB program. Coordinates all aspects of travel, player personnel, and coaching personnel needs. Coordinates community service events, fundraising events, and other campus events which require MBB cooperation. Serves as MBB’s primary point of contact to the Office of Athletics Compliance. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA); Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University. 

 

Responsibilities

25% Travel; Responsible for creating travel arrangements, including but not limited to: negotiating lodging deals for away-from-home trips; researching and booking flights (commercial and charter) as well as bus companies for team travel; reserving rental cars; creating and disseminating travel itineraries; arranging meals for away-from home trips.

 

25% Budgets; Assists the MBB HC with MBB team budget and scholarship budget. Schedules move-in and housing assignments of incoming continuing student-athletes; obtains and manages student-athlete meal plans; serves as liaison between the Office of Athletics Compliance and MBB student-athletes regarding financial aid matters.

 

25% Scheduling; Coordinates player personnel and coaching personnel needs throughout the MBB program, including but not limited to: assisting coaches with personnel issues; reserving rooms for team meetings; arranging technology services; planning team functions; scheduling and tracking practice activities through ARMS (compliance & communication software). Attends Head Coaches’ meetings and reports updates to the MBB staff.

           

15% Serves as MBB’s primary administrator for ARMS.

           

5% Assists in coordinating graduate manage responsibilities. Functionally supervises off-court graduate manager work efforts.

 

5% Performs other duties as assigned by the MBB coaching staff.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA eligibility rules and regulations. Knowledge of business services policies, requirements, and procedures. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Must be able to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

The target base annual salary is $60,000 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
